Join now >Doug Martin looks good, but has costly turnover in Week 8 loss.
Martin rushed 13 times for 72 yards, also adding two receptions for 17 yards. The former All-Pro showed vision, burst, and power to finish off runs, but he unfortunately put the ball on the ground when Defensive Rookie of the Year favorite Darius Leonard punched it out to set the Colts up for a 42-28 lead, which eventually held. Still, Martin showed enough to warrant RB2 consideration on a short week to face the 49ers in a battle between one-win Bay Area teams, and he needs to be picked up in all leagues he’s still available in.

Melvin Gordon III (hamstring) is officially listed as questionable for Week 9.
Gordon was limited in practice all week and there is definite optimism surrounding his status, but his status might not be certain until around 2:35 PM ET on Sunday, as the Chargers kickoff at 4:05 PM ET. If Gordon plays, he’s a no-doubt RB1 option that you shouldn’t hesitate to insert into Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Alfred Morris gets seven carries against the Raiders.
The veteran running back received most of his action late in the game of San Francisco’s blowout victory, but he did receive a goal-line attempt early in the game. Overall, Morris gained 13 yards on his seven rushing attempts. He’ll become the clear No. 2 back behind Matt Breida with Raheem Mostert almost certainly out for the year with a bad forearm injury, but Breida is the Niners running back to trust in fantasy lineups.

Rashard Higgins (knee) is officially questionable for Week 9.
After Higgins missed the last three games, he was able to get in two straight limited practices the last two days. Higgins himself says he 100% will be out there on Sunday, and we don’t anticipate interim head coach Gregg Williams feels the need to hold guys out if they say they can play, so expect Higgins to be active against the Chiefs.
11/2/18 - 03:11 PM ET
J.J. Nelson gets one touch in Week 8.
Nelson received one carry for eight yards against the Niners. He was also targeted on a deep pass to the end zone, but Niners cornerback Richard Sherman broke it up. Nelson is not a fantasy option right now.
10/29/18 - 12:22 PM ET
Antonio Callaway (ankle) is officially questionable for Sunday.
Callaway rolled his ankle in practice yesterday and didn’t practice today. We’d think the rookie receiver will be fine for Sunday, but it’s no lock. Callaway’s status will be known by 11:30 AM ET on game day.
11/2/18 - 03:08 PM ET
Matt Breida gets 13 touches against the Raiders.
Breida carried 12 times for 41 yards and added one reception for three yards in the Thursday night win. The second-year running back started the game well with chunk gains, but the Raiders actually did a good job of shutting him down for much of the game. For Breida owners, he unfortunate wasn’t in on a 52-yard touchdown run scored by Raheem Mostert on a play where the defense didn’t lay a finger on Mostert. Breida was again hobbling around a bit and was in and out of the lineup while dealing with his ankle injury, but perhaps the mini bye will help him get closer to 100% for Week 10 against the Giants. And it’s worth noting that Mostert is almost certainly done for the season with a gruesome forearm injury, so Breida could get a few more touches per game moving forward.
