It went for four yards. Ervin also had a would-be receiving touchdown, but it was unfortunately called back due to a penalty. The 2016 fourth-round pick is still seeking the first score of his career.

Jakeem Grant catches four passes in Week 8.
Grant gained 36 yards on his four receptions versus the Texans, and he drew eight targets, which was second on the team behind DeVante Parker (nine). Grant was involved in one of the highlight plays of the night, as he appeared to make a nice catch in traffic, but it was popped out on a big hit before flying off a helmet and to Parker for a 46-yard gain. If Kenny Stills (groin) remains out next week, Grant will remain a clear starter against the Jets.

Jordan Thomas scores first career touchdowns in win over the Dolphins.
Thomas caught four passes for 29 yards, including a couple red-zone scores. The rookie should get more opportunities to make plays with Deshaun Watson under center, but he’s unlikely to develop into a fantasy option in 2018 with just eight receptions through eight games.

DeVante Parker returns to action and hits career-high in receiving.
Forced into the lineup because of injuries to Albert Wilson (hip) and Kenny Stills (groin) days after his agent complained about Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, Parker caught six-of-nine targets for a career-high 134 yards against the Texans. This was Parker’s third game of the season as he battled finger and quadricep injuries, and Gase and the offense didn’t shy away from using the former first-round pick in a big role. Parker was great all game, getting open and making nice catches throughout the night, but the highlight was a 46-yard reception where the ball went off teammate Jakeem Grant then off the helmet of a Texans player and catapulted to Parker down the field. This was an excellent matchup against a banged-up Houston secondary that became more banged-up in this game, but the performance was great to see and a major positive. Parker is worth a fantasy pickup as someone that could make a huge impact down the stretch.

DeAndre Hopkins scores twice in win over the Dolphins.
Hopkins was held in check for most of the night, but he broke out in the second half, finishing with six receptions (on seven targets) for 82 yards and two touchdowns. The first score came on a busted coverage form 49 yards out, and the second was an easy slant at the goal line to put Houston up 42-23 to win their fifth game in a row. Hopkins also had an unbelievable one-handed grab that was called but due to a push off to gain separation, but it was amazing nonetheless. The 26-year-old is on pace for a 106/1,578/12 line at the season’s midway point, and he’s obviously an elite WR1 the rest of the way, including next Sunday in Denver.

Kalen Ballage gets one carry in Week 8.
Ballage was the wildcat quarterback on a third-down play in the first half, taking his lone carry five yards for a first down. The rookie running back is just a dynasty-league option for now, as he’s mostly contributing on special teams and not getting much time on offense.
10/25/18 - 11:58 PM ET
Alfred Blue handles 15 carries in win over the Dolphins.
Blue rushed 15 times for 42 yards and wasn’t targeted in the passing game. It was Lamar Miller that ran wild with 133 yards and a score on 18 attempts, but Blue got his fair share of work. Still, the LSU product isn’t anything more than a decent FLEX option in deeper leagues while operating as a change-of-pace back, and that includes next Sunday in Denver.
