Mostert had one carry for zero yards and one reception for eight yards agains the Chiefs. Mostert is an excellent special-teams contributor for the Niners, but he’s not on the fantasy radar.

Chase Edmonds gets six touches in Week 2.
Edmonds had one carry for five yards and five receptions for 15 yards in the Cardinals’ shutout loss to the Rams. The rookie running back is not a fantasy option at the moment, especially for an offense that’s struggling to block and move the ball.

Alfred Morris gets 14 carries in Week 2.
Morris gained 67 yards and scored against the Chiefs, as he continued to split work with Matt Breida in the Niners backfield. Despite Breida outperforming Morris on the ground overall, the veteran running back appears locked into 10-15 carries per week as a member of the team’s committee backfield. However, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a potential season-ending knee injury, which is a big blow to the offense overall. Morris is likely to get less scoring opportunities without Jimmy G under-center.

David Johnson gets 14 touches in Week 2.
Johnson carried 13 times for 48 yards and caught one pass for three yards in what was a terrible offensive showing against a Rams team that overmatched them. DJ should be getting used much more as a receiver down the field, but the Cardinals having trouble pass protecting could be impacting things. The bottom line is there should be some obvious concern for Johnson owners, but it’s only been two games, and he’s a truly great player that will ideally get 20+ touches each week at some point. We’ll see if the Cardinals can get something going next week against the Bears.
9/17/18 - 12:45 PM ET
Matt Breida totals 117 yards in Niners’ loss.
The leagues leading rusher entering Week 2, Breida again split work with Alfred Morris (who scored against the loss), carrying ten times for 90 yards while adding three receptions for 27 yards. Breida is making huge chunk plays on the ground, but Kyle Shanahan isn’t yet willing to give him 15-20 carries in a game, and he’s losing goal-line work to Morris. Also, Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a potential season-ending knee injury in the game, which is a big blow to San Francisco’s offense. Still, Breida has been highly productive this season and is at least a FLEX option for next week against the Chargers.
9/24/18 - 07:22 AM ET
Theo Riddick catches nine passes in loss to the Niners.
Riddick didn’t record a carry, but he caught nine passes for 47 yards. We think Detroit should give Kerryon Johnson most of the offensive snaps, but Riddick will likely be involved as a receiver all year, including in Week 3 against the Patriots. Still, he is just a decent FLEX option in PPR formats and not a recommend own in standard leagues.
9/17/18 - 12:45 PM ET
Update: Phillip Dorsett is back in the game.
It looked like a potentially serious injury for Dorsett, but thankfully he’s back in the game with under two minutes to go. New England appears to be just running the clock out, though.
