Christian McCaffrey | 49ers RB

Christian McCaffrey handles 20 touches in win over the Falcons.

McCaffrey rushed a career-high 15 times for 66 yards and a touchdown, also adding five receptions for 28 yards. The first-round pick looked great as a runner, and it’s surprising to see it took so long for the Panthers to give him extended work in the backfield. Also, fantasy owners could be in for a boost of scoring in both PPR and standard-scoring formats, as his four-yard rushing touchdown looked like a forward pass that should be corrected to a receiving touchdown. If Carolina keeps McCaffrey around 20 touches per game, he should go off down the stretch. He gets the Dolphins on MNF in Week 10.

Matt Forte | Retired RB

Matt Forte scores twice in Week 9.

Forte played really well in this one, and it comes after he voiced some displeasure with the amount of runs the team had last week in poor weather conditions against the Falcons. The veteran back carried 14 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns while adding four receptions for 19 yards through the air. Both his scores came with the team deep in Buffalo territory, so it was good for his fantasy owners to see him get the touches down in that are. Forte would probably love to have this type of workload of 15-20 touches each week, and he’d be a very good fantasy asset if that happens. We’ll see if he can keep it up against Tampa Bay next week.

11/3/17 - 12:14 AM ET

Wendell Smallwood | Steelers RB

Wendell Smallwood gets five carries against Denver.

Smallwood was clearly the fourth back in the rotation, not getting work until late in the game with it in hand. But the second-year back did run pretty well, gaining 25 yards on his five attempts. Smallwood isn’t on the fantasy radar at the moment, as his role isn’t big enough after the addition of Jay Ajayi to the Eagles backfield.

11/6/17 - 11:20 AM ET

Josh McCown | Free Agent QB

Josh McCown plays well in Jets’ win.

The Jets now might have about as many wins as many expected coming into the year, as McCown helped lead his team to its fourth win of the season with tonight’s victory over Buffalo. McCown played efficient and helped keep the offense moving, going 14/20 for 140 yards and a touchdown while also adding five carries for 13 yards and a touchdown. The first score was on the ground, as he scrambled for an easy ten-yard touchdown in the first quarter. And the passing touchdown was on a nice 25-yard throw to the end zone to Robby Anderson. McCown has now completed at least 70% of his passes in five of nine games this season, and he’ll look to have another solid game against the Bucs (one of his former teams) in Week 10.

11/3/17 - 12:12 AM ET

Julio Jones | Free Agent WR

Julio Jones goes over 100 yards against the Panthers.

Jones had another big performance versus Carolina, catching six of 12 targets for 118 yards. However, he had a key miscue in the fourth quarter, dropping perfect 39-yard throw to the end zone for a would-be touchdown. Jones ran a great route and was wide open behind the defense, but he uncharacteristically did not haul it in. It appears Jones might’ve looked up very slightly before securing the catch, and we might not see that again anytime soon from him. Through eight games, the All-Pro receiver is on pace for 86 receptions, 1,316 yards, and two touchdowns. Look for a determined Jones to perhaps put the team on his back with the Falcons looking for a big win next week agasint Dallas.

11/6/17 - 01:27 PM ET

Logan Thomas | 49ers TE

Logan Thomas catches two passes against the Jets.

Thomas gained 25 yards on his two receptions, with his long reception going for 20 yards. The former quarterback continues to show flashes as a tight end, and he’s someone to watch if you’re in a dynasty league.

11/3/17 - 12:08 AM ET

T.Y. Hilton | Free Agent WR

T.Y. Hilton explodes in Week 9 win.

Hilton, who has had some huge games against Houston in the past, caught five passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. The first score came on a 45-yard reception in the first quarter, but the highlight was an 80-yard touchdown in the third quarter where he jumped and landed on the ground to avoid the defender touching him in the open field, got up, and ran into the end zone. T.Y. is usually a more reliable play at home, but he has a difficult matchup next week when the Colts host the Steelers. Still, he’s a high-upside WR2/FLEX option.
