Rex Burkhead | Free Agent RB

Rex Burkhead handles seven touches in Week 7 win.

Burkhead rushed six times for 31 yards and caught an 11-yard pass in a 23-7 victory. The Patriots will continue to play all four running backs, but it looks like Dion Lewis is the preferred early-down option, and James White is obviously not losing work in the passing game. With Mike Gillislee still around for short-yardage work, Burkhead is nothing more than a change-of-pace right now, but things could change quickly under Bill Belichick. New England hosts the Chargers next Sunday.

Ezekiel Elliott | Chargers RB

Ezekiel Elliott receives a career-high 33 carries in win over the Redskins.

Elliott rushed 33 times for 150 yards and two scores, as he consistently churned out yardage in the 33-19 win. He also caught a four-yard pass and lost a fumble. As FOX play-by-play man Thom Brennaman said during the broadcast, a decision on Zeke’s status for the rest of the season could come early this week, so fantasy owners are hopefully prepared for it. At this point, we’d expect Elliott to play the rest of the season, and he’s an obvious RB1 every time he’s on the field. The Cowboys host the Chiefs next Sunday.

Amari Cooper | Free Agent WR

Amari Cooper gets ten targets in Week 8.

Cooper caught five of ten targets for 48 yards against the Bills, with a long of 18 yards. He also added a four-yard carry in the Raiders’ loss. Through eight games, the third-year receiver is on pace for 68 receptions for 808 yards and six touchdowns, and that includes his monster 210-yard performance in Week 7. He should be able to continue picking up the pace and hit 1,000 yards by season’s end, though.

10/30/17 - 12:54 PM ET

LeGarrette Blount | Retired RB

LeGarrette Blount scores in Week 8 win.

Blount rushed 16 times for 48 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. He also caught a four-yard pass. Through eight games, Blount is averaging an impressive 4.7 yards per carry, and he’s on pace for 200 carries for 934 yards. However, he has just two rushing scores on the season, so hopefully he can find the end zone more in the second half. It might not start with Denver coming to town next Sunday, so we’d look elsewhere in fantasy lineups for Week 9.

10/30/17 - 12:52 PM ET

Niles Paul | Retired TE

Niles Paul catches one pass in Week 7.

Eagles linebacker Jordan Hicks went down early in the game and Michael Kendricks was inactive, so the Redskins did a nice job attacking Philadelphia with their tight ends. Paul’s reception was on a pass down the sideline for 32 yards. He’s not a fantasy option right now, as his role isn not big enough.

10/24/17 - 12:01 AM ET

Deshaun Watson | Browns QB

Deshaun Watson plays great but the Texans lose in Seattle.

The rookie from Clemson had an amazing performance against one of the NFC’s best teams, going 19/30 for 402 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions while adding eight carries for 67 yards. Watson became the first player in the Super Bowl era to have over 400 yards passing, four passing touchdowns, and over 50 rushing yards in a game. But Seattle scored with under 25 seconds remaining in a back-and-forth game. The interceptions weren’t great—one was jumped by Earl Thomas and one was an ill-advised throw into a zone area that a receiver ran into and Watson didn’t see Richard Sherman—but the last one came on pretty much a desperation attempt at the end of the game. It’s difficult not to be impressed with the poise and ability of Watson, and it had people saying he’s a clear franchise quarterback (which was overdue, as he probably should’ve been the first pick in the draft as we’ve been saying all along). Despite already having his bye week and not starting in the first game, the rookie leads the NFL in touchdowns. He’s an elite QB1 against the Colts in Week 9.

10/30/17 - 01:29 PM ET

James White | Retired RB

James White scores in Super Bowl LI rematch.

White rushed four times for 19 yards and caught five passes for 28 yards, including a two-yard score in the second quarter. Unfortunately for football fans, unlike February’s game, the only real drama was the fog that covered the field in the second half, as the Patriots were able to handle the Falcons 23-7. White will be a FLEX option in standard leagues and an RB2 in PPR leagues when the Pats host the Chargers next Sunday.
