This is the first time in Jackson’s career that he’s missed two consecutive practices, so there is some cause for concern with the knee issue that’s been bothering him—but Jackson is also said to be dealing with an illness that was part of why he missed today’s practice. It would be a major surprise if Jackson is out on Sunday, but the final Week 5 injury report will be out tomorrow.

The Chiefs promoted DeAndre Washington to the active roster.
Washington was with the Chiefs throughout the summer before getting cut, but he’s worked his way from the team’s practice field and onto the 53-man roster. Washington isn’t a recommended fantasy pickup at the moment, but he’s still someone to watch in Kansas City’s elite offense.

DeSean Jackson (hamstring) was a limited participant in Thursday’s practice.
Jackson is expected to return this week, but getting in a full session on Friday and not being given a questionable tag would help those looking to play him feel better about it. The veteran deep threat returning would be a boost for the entire offense.

Alshon Jeffery (illness) did not practice on Thursday.
The veteran being listed with an illness on the injury report as he nears return from a foot injury is certainly interesting, but at the point it would probably be a surprise if he made his season debut on Sunday. Jeffery is worth stashing if you have an open IR spot.

MyCole Pruitt has been added to the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Multiple skill-position players have tested positive following an apparent team workout at the end of September, but if Tennessee ends up playing this week, they are fortunate to have Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, and A.J. Brown in the clear (at least so far). No additional positive tests over the next couple of days could realistically allow the Bills-Titans game to proceed on Sunday without allowing Tennessee to practice, but Monday and Tuesday are also reportedly options.

Justin Herbert will be the Chargers’ starting quarterback moving forward.
Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn just announced the news. This is very unfortunate for veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor, as the situation was totally out of his control with a freak medical mishap puncturing his lung and forcing him out of action. But Herbert has looked too good to keep of the field, particularly last week against Todd Bowles’ aggressive Tampa Bay defense. Herbert’s rushing potential along with the prowess he showed as a passer makes him an interesting fantasy option through the rest of the year.

Henry Ruggs III (hamstring) was officially limited in today’s practice.
A limited practice to start the week is a great sign for the dynamic rookie receiver, and the Raiders could certainly use him as they look to keep up with the Chiefs this Sunday. We’ll track Ruggs’ practice status throughout the week.
