Join now >Chris Hogan is signing with the Jets, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
It took a while for Hogan to sign, but he lands in a nice spot with a chance to get a good amount of playing time for the Jets. Hogan will now face his former Patriots team he won two titles with twice this season. The 31-year-old receiver’s lone season with the Panthers last year was hampered by injury. Hogan is definitely an East Coast guy, and he’s now been with every team in the AFC East throughout his career.

The Panthers signed Marken Michel.
Michel provides some speed as a potential deep threat for the Panthers, but he’ll likely need to make strong special-teams contributions to make the final roster in a few weeks. For now, Michel is off the fantasy radar.

The Panthers signed Tommylee Lewis.
Both Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and offensive coordinator Joe Brady know Lewis when all three were together with the Saints in 2018. Lewis can provide dynamic ability as a speedy reserve receiver, but his biggest contributions for Carolina would likely come on special teams this season.

Alex Smith (leg) has been fully cleared by the Washington Football Team, according to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay.
Smith was already cleared for football activity from his surgical team, but the Washington Football Team has now also fully cleared the veteran quarterback. This means that the team is comfortable with Smith taking full contact, and he should be coming off the PUP list soon. The situation in Washington now becomes very interesting, as Smith is set to compete with Dwayne Haskins and Kyle Allen for the starting quarterback job. Smith was one of the game’s top quarterbacks for his last several healthy years before his devastating leg injury in 2018, and he should not be counted out of winning Washington’s starting job and having a ton of success moving forward. Whatever happens, it’s been a truly amazing comeback.

The 49ers waived/injured Chris Thompson.
Thompson will now go through waivers, and he will revert to the Niners’ injured reserve if he goes unclaimed. Thompson is off the fantasy radar at the moment.

The 49ers waived Daniel Helm.
Helm was promoted to the active roster for the 49ers as an undrafted rookie last season, but the team is going in another direction for now as they clear roster spots for Tavon Austin and J.J. Nelson at receiver.

The Jaguars signed Bruce Miller.
Back in 2016, Miller was cut immediately by the 49ers after he was charged with several felonies for attacking an elderly man and his son, but he’s getting another opportunity at 33 years old. Miller is a versatile player that was a solid contributor for a few years in San Francisco, and he’ll attempt to make the squad in Jacksonville as a potential lead blocker for Leonard Fournette and the Jags running backs.
