Join now >The 49ers are signing Jaron Brown.
Brown moves to his third NFC West team after previously spending time with the Cardinals and Seahawks, so he’s familiar with the division as he looks to win a role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. Brown joins Tavon Austin and J.J. Nelson as recent veteran signings while San Francisco deals with injuries to the receiving corps.

Vikings, Dalvin Cook break off contract talks, according to NFL Network.
Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport say that talks could resume, but for now the two sides are moving forward with Cook on the last year of his rookie deal. This is an indication that contract negotiations are not close, but Cook doesn’t have much leverage at all after the new CBA passed earlier this year basically made holdouts impossible for players. Expect a determined Cook this season as he looks for a lucrative long-term contract from Minnesota or another team.

The Giants placed Cody Core (Achilles) on injured reserve.
Unfortunately, Core tore his Achilles late in yesterday’s practice, and his season is over. Core was a key special teams player for the Giants last season, so the team will need other reserve players to help pick up the slack. We wish Core the best on his recovery.

The Titans are signing Trevor Siemian.
This comes as the Titans cut rookie Cole McDonald, so head coach Mike Vrabel and company clearly wanted more experience behind Ryan Tannehill. Siemian has starting experience and would provide a steady hand on offense if he wins the backup job.

The Titans are waiving Cole McDonald.
This is a bit of a surprise cut this early in camp, and now the seventh-round rookie quarterback from Hawaii will be exposed to waivers. If McDonald happens to go unclaimed, he might land back with Tennessee (perhaps on the practice squad when the season begins) at some point.

Miles Sanders is week-to-week with a lower body injury.
This is an unfortunate break for the second-year back, who has really been talked up recently and looked to have a case as a first-round pick in all formats. That said, he still might be good to go for Week 1, and Sanders should have a full grasp on the offense after looking like a future star down the stretch in 2019. The worst-case scenario for fantasy owners that have already drafted would be the Eagles signing Devonta Freeman, but Boston Scott is currently atop the depth chart and should get a small boost in drafts for now.

The Jets waived Kenneth Dixon.
The Jets have a deep running back group especially after adding veteran Frank Gore, so they are moving on from Dixon. Injuries have derailed things a bit for Dixon throughout his career, but he should land with a new team soon.
