Join now >Antonio Brown calls on the NFL to provide clarity about his standing with the league.
Despite just claiming he was retiring a couple of days ago, Brown posted on Instagram saying his legal team has been given no answers about his status, leaving him in “limbo” with NFL teams—so he’s clearly hoping for another chance and not retiring. Despite a very troubling string of issues over the past year, Brown has a point, and if he’s truly changed his behavior by complying with the NFL’s requests, he should at least hear from them. The Seahawks have been the team most connected to the former All-Pro wideout.

The Chiefs have signed Patrick Mahomes to a ten-year extension through the 2031 season, according to ESPN.
There is no indication about the dollar amount for Mahomes, but there is a very high chance it will be in accordance with the rising salary cap over the next decade, making the former NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion one of the highest-paid athletes in history. Kansas City will now need to find a way to keep a strong roster around their franchise centerpiece, but they should be contenders for as long as he is under center. From a fantasy perspective, this doesn’t really change much at all for Mahomes and the Chiefs passing attack; most view him as the top option at the position in dynasty leagues, and Lamar Jackson just edges him out for most in redraft leagues. It will be fun to see what kind of numbers Mahomes can put up (and trophies he can collect) throughout his career.

Frank Reich is “super pumped” about Parris Campbell this season.
Campbell was able to appear in seven games as a rookie last season, catching 18 passes, but it was somewhat of a lost season for the Ohio State product as he dealt with injuries all year. However, Reich says he is “proud of the way Parris has been handling the offseason,” adding that the speedy receiver is doing everything and working out hard. Reich also added that Campbell will move around the formation but will likely see a lot of time in the slot. Last year, Indy was very optimistic about Campbell’s ability to immediately help on offense until injuries derailed things, but the team obviously remains very high on the 2019 second-round pick. Campbell will look to mesh with new quarterback Philip Rivers and enjoy a strong 2020 campaign this fall.

The Jets are placing Josh Bellamy on the reserve/PUP list, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Bellamy was placed on injured reserve last November with a shoulder injury, and this move means he won’t be suiting up for New York in the fall. Turning 31 in a couple of weeks, Bellamy will hope to make a full recovery soon—but he will need to be released by the Jets to play in 2020.

Rams set for hot-hand approach at running back.
On The Helliepod, Rams head coach Sean McVay said he looked at the way the 49ers used their running backs last season as a way the Rams could use theirs in 2020: “What I thought Kyle (Shanahan) and their players did a great job of is, ‘Hey, we’re doing to have an open-mind approach, we’re going to be committed to trying to have some balance and then we’ll go wit hotel ot hand or whoever really expresses himself as deserving of the carries.” McVay added that the team feels good about Darrell Henderson, Malcolm Brown, John Kelly, and rookie Cam Akers as all “NFL-legitimate starting-caliber backs.” So, Los Angeles sounds like they are a set for a definite committee approach to open this season, but also keep in mind that someone could seize closer to a clear lead role if they perform well. Akers, who the Rams were very high on as a second-round pick, is probably the best best to get a heavy all-around workload in 2020, but the others make for fine late-round fantasy selections with upside.

The Bills plan to use Zack Moss like they used Frank Gore last year.
Moss was drafted in the third-round of this year’s draft and looks set to immediately get a pretty solid floor of a workload behind starter Devin Singletary in Buffalo. Perhaps the coaching staff will have other plans or Singletary will make it difficult to leave him off the field, but Bills general manager Brandon Beane said he envisions Moss having a similar role to Gore last year. Gore had 166 carries for the Bills in 2019, so Moss is a good bet to be in the 150-175+ carry range (barring injury to him or Singletary) this season.

The Seahawks are signing Carlos Hyde, according to NFL Network.
Seattle had been rumored to be in the mix for veteran running backs, reportedly making an offer to former Falcons runner Devonta Freeman in recent days. They settle on Hyde, and this could potentially lead to a domino that has Freeman signing with the Eagles (another team reportedly looking heavily into veteran running backs). Hyde joins a crowded backfield that includes Chris Carson, Rashaad Penny, and fourth-round rookie DeeJay Dallas, but Penny is looking doubtful for Week 1. Expect Seattle’s backfield to be clearly led by the 1,200-yard rusher Carson with Hyde working as the primary backup to open the year, but Dallas is also someone to keep an eye on.
