Join now >The Jets are placing Quincy Enunwa on the reserve/PUP list, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Enunwa unfortunately has basically had two seasons of his NFL career wiped out by neck injuries, so this isn’t a good sign. Enunwa will not be able to play for the Jets this season, but perhaps he can get released from the reserve/PUP list at some point and land with another team. We hope Enunwa the best as he looks to get back to 100%.

David Njoku has requested a trade.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns insist that they want to keep Njoku, but the young tight end’s agent Drew Rosenhaus says Njoku is “intent” on a trade. Rosenhaus also said: “It is in David’s best interest to find a new team at this time.” While Cleveland has maintained that they want to keep Njoku as a big part of their offense in multiple-tight-end sets, it’s felt like this situation wouldn’t work out since the team signed former Falcons tight end Austin Hooper during free agency. Njoku will turn just 24 years old in a week, but he’s already shown he can be a productive starter in the NFL, and he understandably wants to be in a situation that’ll feature his talents. Rosenhaus pushing for a trade could help get something done, but we’ll see what happens.

The Jets are signing Joe Flacco to a one-year deal.
Flacco will slide in as Sam Darnold’s backup, and general manager Joe Douglas of course knows the former Super Bowl MVP well after their time together in Baltimore. New York had already spent a fourth-round pick on James Morgan last month, but you can’t have too many guys in the quarterback room, and Flacco gives them a reliable veteran option that will help Darnold—and can win games off the bench if needed. On what projects to be a more conservative offense, Flacco would only be a matchup-based streamer if he ever sees the field.

The Jets are signing Frank Gore.
The ageless veteran running back will return for his 16th NFL season, joining his third different AFC East team in three seasons after playing for the Dolphins and Bills in the previous two seasons. Gore was with Jets head coach Adam Gase in Miami in 2018, so the relationship is there, which is key in a season that might have a shortened training camp period due to COVID-19. Le’Veon Bell is obviously the leader in the backfield for the Jets, but Gore has had at least 156 carries in 14 consecutive seasons.

The Eagles waived Khalil Tate.
The former Arizona quarterback will look to land with another team as he continues his transition to receiver. Perhaps he’ll land back with Philadelphia, a team that had success helping former Houston quarterback Greg Ward make the position change, at some point. The practice squad someplace is probably Tate’s most likely course of action during the COVID-impacted 2020 season.

Russell Wilson wants to run more up-tempo offense this season.
During the NFL Scouting Combine, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that he and Wilson have been talking about moving to more of an up-tempo offense “for years.” Carroll added that “you’ll see what happens,” so perhaps he’s open to using tempo more in 2020. With second-year receiver D.K. Metcalf emerging as a stud playmaker on the outside, Wilson has the arsenal at his disposal to spread it out and attack the defense with more of a wide-open attack. However, Seattle has thrived on running the ball and playing tough defense while allowing Wilson to torch defenses on play-action passes over the years. The offense of the Seahawks will be interesting to watch this fall, and Wilson would obviously have monstrous upside if the Seahawks do go up-tempo and allow him to throw the ball around more.

Antonio Gandy-Golden had COVID-19, according to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay.
Thankfully, Gandy-Golden has fully recovered from the virus, which is great to hear. Gandy-Golden has reportedly been participating in the Washington’s virtual offseason actives, and he should have no limitations when training camp hopefully begins on time this summer. The rookie receiver has a chance to immediately carve out a sizable role in 2020.
