Join now >The Chiefs released Kyle Shurmur.
Roster moves like this are typically made the weekend after the draft as teams deal with roster space and the salary cap. Shurmur might find his way back to Kansas City at some point, but other teams should be interested, too.

The Chiefs have waived Shea Patterson, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Kansas City re-signed veteran Matt Moore earlier today, so Patterson will now go through waivers. An undrafted free agent out of Michigan, Patterson has dual-threat ability which could help him land with a new team soon. However, if he goes unclaimed, the coronavirus is a potential roadblock as Patterson looks to find another squad ahead of training camp later this month.

James Develin has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Develin missed most of last season with a neck injury, and he is now hanging up his cleats due to “unforeseen complications.” After going undrafted in 2010 and spending some time with Cincinnati for parts of three years, New England signed Develin to the practice squad in September of 2012, and he eventually became the starting fullback the following season—a role that allowed him to collect three Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. It is unfortunate that Develin’s career is over, but he enjoyed a decade in the league and was a key part of New England teams that relied more heavily on the run in recent years. For his career, Develin finishes with 15 carries, 26 rushing yards, five rushing touchdowns, 31 receptions, and 222 receiving yards. His full retirement post can be read in the link below.

The Colts have waived Steve Ishmael, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Ishmael was placed on IR last August, and Indy is now releasing him after adding two receivers in the draft. Turning 25 this summer, Ishmael should get a chance to make a team this summer, but he’s not currently on the fantasy radar.

The Browns will exercise the fifth-year option on David Njoku, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.
While there was some thought that Njoku would be on the trade block after the team signed tight end Austin Hooper in free agency, all indications have been that Cleveland wants to keep the 2017 first-round pick on the roster in 2020—and now, he’s under contract with the team through 2021. Expect the Browns to run multiple tight end sets about as much as anyone this season, but it might be difficult for Njoku to find consistent value as a TE1 option in fantasy leagues.

The Lions released Tra Carson.
Detroit added D’Andre Swift in the second round of the draft, and they have a crowded running back room. Hopefully Carson is able to land with a new team soon, but he’s not a must-hold in dynasty leagues at the moment.

The Eagles signed Khalil Tate.
Philadelphia is listing Tate as a wide receiver, and they might have convinced the former Arizona quarterback that they are the team to develop him after helping former Houston quarterback Greg Ward make the transition successfully in the NFL. For now, Tate is just someone to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues.
