Join now >The Giants picked up Evan Engram’s fifth-year option.
Engram has battled injuries throughout his career, but he’s shown major flashes, and brings some size to the overall receiving group for the Giants. Engram has caught at least 44 passes in each of his first three NFL seasons.

Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter discusses Todd Gurley.
In a virtual press conference with reporters, Koetter said that no one knows how healthy Gurley is. These comments appear to be getting blown totally out of proportion, as Koetter was simply honest and stated the obvious regarding Gurley’s status. (Gurley has not gotten a physical with the Falcons because of the COVID-19 situation.) More notably, Koetter said that he knows Gurley “can do it, it’s just a matter of how often he can do it” while discussing his status as a former All-Pro running back. Koetter also mentioned that Gurley had 17 touches per game with the Rams last season but handled a bigger workload in the past, indicating that Atlanta might use the former Offensive Player of the Year as a near-workhorse if health allows. Gurley will be one of the league’s most intriguing players in 2020.

The Eagles are re-signing Corey Clement.
Philadelphia did not draft a running back over the weekend, and they had reportedly been talking to Clement about a return, so this was expected. The former Super Bowl LII hero spent last season on injured reserve, but he offers a versatile skillset and could be a serious contributor behind Miles Sanders in the Eagles backfield this season.

Kenny Stills facing felony charge following protest last night.
Stills and 86 others are facing charges after protesting at the home of the Kentucky Attorney General “to demand action against the police officers who shot and killed Breonna Taylor in March”, according to the Louisville Courier Journal. Stills was charged with a felony of intimidating a participant in the legal process, so it sounds like he might have taken things too far after what was said to be a peaceful protest (but on private property) was being broken up when the protesters were told to leave. This might be a legal issue Stills won’t have much trouble getting out of, and NFL discipline seems unlikely; but the situation is worth keeping in mind for now.

The Buccaneers exercised the fifth-year option on O.J. Howard.
Tampa Bay is doing everything they can to surround Tom Brady with as many weapons as possible for at least the next couple of years. Tight end is a major luxury for the Bucs with All-Pro Rob Gronkowski and Cameron Brate also at the position, but Howard is a very talented player that can be devastating as a complementary tight end to Gronkowski. Howard will likely go undrafted or toward the very end of 2020 fantasy drafts, so he’s obviously an interesting player to keep an eye on.

Mark Walton’s aggravated assault charges have been dropped.
The state of Florida chose not to go forward with the case after “months of investigating.” Still, Walton’s behavior since entering the NFL has not been a good look, and it would be a surprise if a team signs him anytime soon, as he has not done a good job of representing the shield. Walton still faces discipline from the NFL, which has shown they are not afraid to impose discipline pending their own investigation no matter the result in the legal system. Hopefully Walton can stay out of trouble and take advantage of another opportunity in the league if he gets one.

The Bears have signed Trevor Davis.
After going to the Packers in the fifth round of the 2016 draft, Davis spent time with Green Bay, the Raiders, and the Dolphins last season. Chicago is labeling Davis a receiver and “return specialist”, so expect the speedy Cal product to be a key contributor on special teams in 2020.
