The Titans are declining Corey Davis’ fifth-year option.

While Davis has not met expectations since being drafted No. 5 overall in 2017, it’s a slight surprise that the Titans are not picking up his fifth-year option. However, stud second-year receiver A.J. Brown has emerged as the clear top target for Tennessee moving forward, and the Titans are going to need to pay running back Derrick Henry (and eventually Brown). Davis is now entering the final year of his rookie contract.

Hunter Henry and the Chargers did not agree to a long-term contract before today’s deadline.

This was fully expected, as durability has been the concern for Henry early in his NFL career. The young tight end will look to stay healthy and have a strong season for Los Angeles before potentially hitting the open market in 2021. With Philip Rivers now in Indy, Henry must adjust to playing with a new quarterback in veteran Tyrod Taylor.

The Raiders re-signed Demornay Pierson-El.

Pierson-El re-joins on of the deepest receiving corps in football, so he’ll almost certainly have to be a core special-teams player to make the roster in 2020. From a fantasy perspective, Pierson-El is not in the draft mix at the moment.

Cody Latimer charged for multiple offenses.

Latimer has been arrested for second-degree assault, along with illegal use of a firearm among his charges. As always, the full story has yet to come out, but this is not a good look for Latimer. We’ll see what happens, but the new coaching staff for the Redskins led by Ron Rivera might just decided it’s best to part ways with Latimer—despite just signing him this offseason—as they look to build a good foundation for the organization.

The Eagles waived Marken Michel.

Philadelphia added a few receivers during the draft along with veteran Marquise Goodwin last week, so this move isn’t a surprise. Michel should get an opportunity with another team soon as he looks to again show what he can do during the preseason.

A.J. Green will play out 2020 on the franchise tag.

Green and the Bengals did not agree to a long-term contract before today’s 4:00 PM ET deadline, and the Pro Bowl receiver now can only play this year on the franchise tag. Green has yet to sign his franchise tag, but it should just be a formality. Hopefully Green reports for the start of training camp later this month as he looks to get back into the swing of things—while working on chemistry with rookie quarterback Joe Burrow—after not playing since 2018.

The Titans signed Senorise Perry.

Perry was with the Bills last year, and he’ll likely be a key special-teams contributor for the Titans in 2020. The 2014 undrafted player has done well to continuously show he can contribute to an NFL roster, but he is off the fantasy radar at the moment.
