Join now >The Bears have selected Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet with the No. 43 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
More so than usual, media evaluators seemed to be completely overlooking some early-round prospects, and Kmet is one of them. A two-sport athlete that also played baseball before focusing entirely on football, the six-foot-six Kmet has 4.70 speed and above-average strength in a physical frame. He only had 60 receptions for 691 yards and six touchdowns in three years at Notre Dame, but a chunk of that came last year with a 100-yard game against Georgia that displayed his receiving upside. Rookie tight ends rarely become fantasy contributors, but Kmet has a shot if the Bears feature him in Matt Nagy’s offense. Kmet could benefit if veteran quarterback Nick Foles is under center for Chicago.

The Jaguars have selected Colorado wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Shenault Jr. is a physical creator in the mold of the 49ers’ Deebo Samuel, and the Jaguars would be wise to use him in a similar way as a rookie to maximize his impact. If not for injury concerns, Shenault Jr. probably could have went higher than this, and his Year 1 value will be largely depends on staying healthy and how many manufactured touches he gets in Jacksonville. You can read our full scouting report on Shenault Jr. via the link below.

The Colts have selected Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor with the No. 41 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
We viewed Taylor as a top-tier running back prospect in the same class as Saquon Barkley (No. 2 overall pick), Ezekiel Elliott (No. 4), and Christian McCaffrey (No. 8), among others, so this could turn out to be an absolute steal for the Colts. In three years at Wisconsin, Taylor become one of the best runners in college football history, totaling 6,174 yards and 50 touchdowns (including a couple of 2,000-yard campaigns) in the Big Ten while consistently ripping off chunk yardage thanks to an impressive blend of power, vision, and track-star speed. The only real hole in Taylor’s game is ball security (he had 18 fumbles for the Badgers), but if he cleans that up, immediate 1,500-yard, 12-touchdown upside is certainly possible depending on the amount of playing time he gets. Everyone is excited about Clyde Edwards-Helaire being drafted by the Chiefs, but we think JT should be the 1.01 pick in rookie drafts. Taylor has monstrous long-term upside behind Indy’s offensive line, but Marlon Mack is obviously a very capable runner also in the mix as the incumbent starter for the Colts.

The Lions have selected Georgia running back D’Andre Swift with the No. 35 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Swift started his college career as an excellent change-of-pace off the bench behind Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, then followed it up with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons as the lead back for the Bulldogs. The 21-year-old has elite agility and explosiveness, 4.4 wheels, and underrated power on inside runs—all of which should excite fantasy owners this fall and beyond. In Detroit, Swift will likely start his career in a near even split with Kerryon Johnson, but the talent/upside immediately puts him on the FLEX radar with room for legitimate RB2 value. The Colts have selected USC wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Pittman Jr. seemed to become a favorite of many late in the pre-draft process, and he lands in a great spot early on Day 2 in Indianapolis. The Colts have said that they want to add weapons to the outside, and the USC product will now get an opportunity to catch passes from veteran quarterback Philip Rivers with a chance to become an immediate No. 2 option behind T.Y. Hilton. While it’s not crazy to think Pittman Jr. can work his way up to mid-round consideration with a strong summer, we are higher on some of the other second- and third-tier wideouts in dynasty leagues.

The Bengals have selected Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Higgins certainly could have gone in the first round of the draft in most years, as he was a productive college receiver for one of the top programs in the nation and has great size at six-foot-four. Higgins caught 26 combined touchdowns over the past two seasons (12 as a sophomore and 13 as a junior), and he’s coming off an 1,167-yard season in which he averaged 19.8 yards per catch for Clemson. Higgins will now join a Bengals offense that already added quarterback Joe Burrow with the first overall pick last night. The Cincinnati receiving corps has A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and John Ross all in the mix as the current starters, but Higgins has the talent to work his way into a good amount of immediate playing time in 2020. The Chiefs have selected LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the No. 32 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Edwards-Helaire is the first and only running back selected in the first round, as Andy Reid gets the top receiving back in the draft to add another dimension on offense. The LSU running back become a fan-favorite down the stretch for the national champion Tigers in 2019, as he’s a shorter player that plays very tough and does not go down easily. Edwards-Helaire feels like a perfect fit in Andy Reid’s offense, and he’ll theoretically have 75-catch upside in Kansas City at some point. To start his career, Edwards-Helaire will split time with Damien Williams, and his progress as a pass blocker could dictate how much he hits the field in 2020. Our scouting report on Edwards-Helaire can be viewed in the link below.
