Join now >The Jets have selected Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims with the No. 59 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Mims was thought to be a potential top-20 pick, so this is a great value for the Jets at the end of the second round. Overall, Mims has the talent to be a dominant perimeter threat with superb natural receiving skills, elite athleticism, and prototype size; we’ll see if he can outperform him draft slot similar to A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf last year. Sam Darnold gaining trust for Mims would be big for his fantasy outlook as a rookie. You can read our full scouting report on the Baylor product in the link below.

The Rams have selected Florida wide receiver Van Jefferson with the No. 57 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Jefferson is a very crafty route runner that will be a great fit in Sean McVay’s offense, which might offer more creative looks in 2020 with Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and the rookie all dangerous on short/intermediate routes. Our full scouting report on Jefferson can be viewed in the link below. The Florida product joins Cam Akers as the second skill position player addition for the Rams tonight, and both will have solid Year 1 potential in Sean McVay’s offense.

The Ravens have selected Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins with the No. 55 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The consensus top trio of Clyde Edwards-Helaire, D’Andre Swift, and Jonathan Taylor, along with Cam Akers going to the Rams, pushed Dobbins down to the Ravens as the fifth running back drafted, but he was an ultra-productive runner at Ohio State and has very few weaknesses to speak of as a prospect. Dobbins compares favorably to former Ravens standout Ray Rice, and he happens to land with the same franchise as a second-round pick like Rice. The former Buckeye has strong long-term upside in an explosive offense led by Lamar Jackson, but he’ll almost certainly be a complementary member of a committee as a rookie. The Eagles have selected Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts with the No. 53 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
This qualifies as a huge stunner on Day 2 of the draft, as the Eagles are all-in on Carson Wentz as their franchise quarterback—but they likely view Hurts as a player that can play a Taysom Hill type of role, and the franchise has preached the importance of having multiple quarterbacks for years now. We viewed Hurts as a first-round prospect in large part due to his character and mobility, but he shouldn’t be discounted as a pure passer with very underrated natural accuracy/touch. Of course, the athleticism and ability as a runner is what fantasy owners will be sold on, and Hurts lands in a great spot to develop with Philadelphia. If/when he eventually gets a chance to start, Hurts will have QB1 upside whether with the Eagles or with another team at some point down the line. The Rams have selected Florida State running back Cam Akers with the No. 52 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Akers—a former No. 1 running back recruit coming out of high school—generated some buzz during the NFL Scouting Combine a couple of months ago, but he hasn’t been talked about much since. He lands in a great spot in Sean McVay’s offense in its first year without Todd Gurley in the mix. The former Florida State star rushed 231 times for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns behind an underwhelming offensive line last year, and he can also make plays as a receiver out of the backfield. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Akers outperform some of the rookie runners drafted ahead of him because of an all-around skillset that could get him on the field quickly with the Rams, a team that clearly believes in him after selecting him just outside the top 50. Our full scouting report on Akers can be found in the link below.

The Steelers have selected Notre Dame wide receiver Chase Claypool with the No. 49 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Claypool is a very athletic receiver with tremendous size at six-foot-four, 238 pounds. Our comparison for him was Darren Waller based on how he can be utilized as a receiver, and Claypool will also make a significant impact on special teams covering punts and kicks. Considering how well Pittsburgh historically drafts receivers, them selecting him in the top 50 is probably a good sign. For now, the Notre Dame product is more of a fantasy stash as a better real-life value for Steelers, but the upside is great if you can wait.

The Broncos have selected Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler with the No. 46 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Hamler is an electric weapon that can stop on a dime and score from anywhere on the field, but it will be interesting to see if the Broncos uses him exclusively as a slot receiver or allows him to play more outside after also adding Jerry Jeudy with the No. 15 pick yesterday. Either way, Hamler will immediately begin his career as an upside FLEX consideration every week because of his big-play potential, and Denver should find a way to get the ball in his hands however they can. The Broncos suddenly have a stacked offense this offseason after adding Melvin Gordon, Jeudy, and Hamler. The full scouting report for Hamler can be viewed in the link below.
