Join now >The Jets have placed Josh Bellamy on injured reserve.
Bellamy caught two passes for 20 yards in seven games for the Jets this season, but his biggest impact came on special teams, where he was one of the team’s top contributors. Bellamy does not need to be held in dynasty leagues.

Adam Thielen’s hamstring is “no worse” than it was, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Thielen is unlikely to play this Sunday night against the Cowboys, but we’ll update you if anything changes. As Pelissero notes, Minnesota’s bye week is a couple of weeks away, so if the team wants to play things safe, but most likely return date for Thielen might be for December 2 (Week 13) against the Seahawks. If that’s the case, Thielen would miss the next two games.

The Panthers placed Cam Newton (foot) on injured reserve.
Panthers general manager Marty Hurney released a statement, reading in part that Newton has done everything he can to return to the field, but: “He saw two foot specialists last week who agreed that he should continue that path prescribed by the team’s medical staff, and that it likely will take significant time for the injury to fully heal.” Newton’s foot simply was not healing, and Carolina has decided to shut him down for the season. In two games this season, Newton threw for 572 yards and one interception along with five carries for -2 yards, so he clearly was not himself when he was on the field to start the year after his preseason foot injury. The former league MVP is entering a contract year next season, but there’s a chance Carolina trades him (they would likely get a ton in return) and goes with Kyle Allen moving forward.

The Jaguars have named Nick Foles their starting quarterback.
Minshew Mania ends, which isn’t surprising after the rookie quarterback struggled against the Texans in London a couple of days ago. Jacksonville targeted Foles as their franchise quarterback in the offseason, paying him a lot of money in the process—he’s also simply an excellent player, so it makes sense that he’s back as the starter. The former Super Bowl MVP is 100% recovered from his broken collarbone, and he’ll now look to help the 4-5 Jaguars get into playoff position in the AFC. This comes during the bye week, giving Foles an extra week to prepare as the starter. Jacksonville has to be thrilled with the way Minshew played stepping in for Foles, throwing for 13 touchdowns and four interceptions in nine games (eight starts); Minshew is a super backup at the very least, and he has a chance to be the long-term starter down the line. Foles is worth a look as a fantasy pickup if you’re struggling at quarterback.

The Jets promoted Josh Adams to the active roster.
Le’Veon Bell had an MRI on his knee yesterday (which we are still waiting to hear the results of), so this promotion could have something to do with that. But NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo says that other teams were interested in signing Adams, so perhaps the Jets thought they might lose him and didn’t want to. The second-year running back is not a highly recommended redraft pickup, even if Bell misses time.

Mark Walton has been suspended four games.
This stems from the offseason arrests for Walton during the offseason when he was a member of the Bengals. Dolphins head coach Brian Flores released a statement saying that the team supports Walton and looks forward to getting him back after his suspension. This opens the door for Kalen Ballage to take on a potential featured role, but keep in mind that the Dolphins being one of the worst teams in the league caps Ballage’s upside a bit. Walton is not a must-hold in redraft leagues, especially if you need roster space.

The Panthers have claimed Donte Moncrief, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Moncrief opened the season as a starter in Pittsburgh, but they are going with the younger guys behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, and it didn’t make sense to keep the veteran on the roster. There likely won’t be enough volume in Carolina with Christian McCaffrey soaking up touches and the starting receivers set with Curtis Samuel and D.J. Moore, but long term, Moncrief has the size that others on the roster don’t—potentially setting him up for a sizable red zone role.
