Join now >The Bengals are benching Andy Dalton, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Cincinnati is turning to fourth-round rookie quarterback Ryan Finley after the team’s Week 9 bye. The 0-8 start for the Bengals certainly has not been on Dalton, who is playing behind arguably the league’s worst offensive line; but it makes sense that head coach Zac Taylor and the team want to get a look at Finley as they look ahead to 2020 and the potential opportunity to select a young quarterback high in the draft. Finley is an accurate passer that might play well, but the veteran Dalton heading to the bench is likely a downgrade for the skill position players for the Bengals. The good news is that Finley is expected to have Pro Bowl wideout A.J. Green (ankle) when the team faces the Ravens in Week 10. Dalton has been Cincinnati’s starting quarterback since 2011, but he’s likely headed elsewhere this offseason.

Davante Adams (toe) is officially doubtful for Week 8.
Adams didn’t practice this week, but Green Bay made it as if a decision could come on Sunday evening, so fantasy owners should be relieved to set their lineups knowing that the star receiver almost certainly won’t play with a doubtful tag. It would be a surprise if Adams wasn’t back before the team’s Week 11 bye, and it sounds like next Sunday against the Chargers might be the most likely return date.

James Conner is dealing with a shoulder/AC joint injury.
Head coach Mike Tomlin says the team will know more tomorrow and he’s being evaluated, but Conner not immediately getting labeled with a clavicle injury should be seen as a good early sign. Fantasy owners will likely get a definitive answer about the injury sometime tomorrow.

The Saints promoted Krishawn Hogan to the active roster.
Hogan played two games with the Colts in 2017, and now he’s getting another opportunity with the Saints. The former undrafted receiver is likely to make his biggest impact on special teams tomorrow against the Cardinals.

James Conner suffers potential clavicle injury against the Dolphins.
Conner just limped off hanging his arm with what appeared to be a potential stinger, but then it appeared trainers on the sidelines were talking and said “clavicle”. Hopefully they were just checking the clavicle, but Conner is headed to the locker room to get checked out. His night is certainly over, and it was a fantastic night; Conner rushed 23 times for 145 yards and a touchdown along with three receptions for five yards. The Pitt product ran with power and craftiness throughout the night, and the Steelers cannot afford to lose him as they look to make a playoff push. More information on Conner should become available in the next 24 hours.

The Patriots have placed Josh Gordon (knee) on injured reserve.
This probably explains the premium price (a second-round pick) the Patriots paid to add Mohamed Sanu to their receiving corps. The exact injury Gordon was dealing with from a couple of Thursdays ago remains unclear, but it did look like an ugly injury when his leg was twisted awkwardly against the Giants. Gordon had 20 receptions for 287 yards and one touchdown in six games for New England this season, and hopefully he stays around the team to keep his mind right while he’s on injured reserve. The Patriots will move forward with Julian Edelman, Phillip Dorsett, and Mohamed Sanu as their top three receivers this season. Gordon turns 29 in the offseason and still does have elite upside as a monstrously-talented receiver, but it’s been quite some time since he’s been a top-tier player like he was during his All-Pro season in 2013.

Benny Snell (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of tonight.
Before leaving, Snell had eight carries for 13 yards while mixing in for James Conner. Hopefully Snell’s knee injury isn’t something that’ll keep him out for much longer than the rest of tonight, but more information should become available within the next couple of days.
