Join now >The Saints have released Zach Zenner.
This could indicate that Alvin Kamara is ready to return after missing one game with an ankle injury, but perhaps the Saints just wanted to move in another direction at running back. Zenner does not need to be owned in dynasty leagues, but he should get another opportunity soon.

Keenan Allen (hamstring) officially did not practice today.
Allen practiced fully yesterday and was not listed with a hamstring issue, so this appears to have popped up ahead of today’s practice. We would think Allen will still play in Week 8, but his status should not be locked in after this missed practice. The final injury report will be released tomorrow, and hopefully Allen is at least limited in the final practice of the week.

Matt Ryan is dealing with a sprained ankle.
After the way the tough Ryan limped off in yesterday’s loss to the Rams, it’s probably a relatively serious ankle injury like a high-ankle sprain. However, Matty Ice is one of the toughest players in the league, and we anticipate him having a pretty good chance to suit up this Sunday against the Seahawks, with Atlanta basically needing to win for a realistic shot to stay alive for the playoffs. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn says Ryan will not practice to start the week, so we’ll update you on his practice status for Thursday and Friday.

Davante Adams (toe) officially did not practice today.
Adams is thought to be nearing a return, but he’s looking iffy after missing the first two practices of this week. Keep in mind that Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has said in the past that Adams does not need to practice to play, but we’d feel better about his status if he can get on the practice field in some capacity tomorrow. We’ll update you with how Adams is listed on the final Week 8 injury report.

The Cardinals are signing Alfred Morris, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This could mean David Johnson (ankle) will miss some time despite suiting up in Week 7 and barely playing, but looking at things optimistically, Arizona may simply want another back. Morris hasn’t seen extended playing time in recent years, but he’s always played well when given touches, so he’s at least on the fantasy radar behind DJ and Chase Edmonds.

Jared Cook (ankle) officially did not practice today.
While Cook did not return to practice yet, Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) did, which might indicate the tight end has an uphill climb to play in Week 8. Cook likely needs to get in a limited practice tomorrow to avoid being ruled out ahead of the weekend.

The Lions are placing Kerryon Johnson (knee) on injured reserve.
Detroit didn’t really provide much information on Johnson after going down on Sunday, so this is a bit of a surprise for the second-year back. Johnson can still return this season—and he likely will if the Lions are still in playoff contention when he’s eligible to come off IR—but a knee procedure will knock him out for at least the next several weeks. If nothing else, back-to-back significant injuries to start his career could lead to Kerryon being significantly discounted in dynasty leagues. As for 2019, Ty Johnson and J.D. McKissic will form a committee until Johnson’s potential return, but there is also a chance Detroit makes a move at the position via trade or free agency.
