Join now >Patrick Mahomes (knee) will practice today.
While Chiefs head coach Andy Reid says that Matt Moore will take the majority of team reps today, he did not rule out Mahomes for this Sunday night against the Packers. Considering it’s only Wednesday, Mahomes being on the practice field in even a limited capacity is a huge surprise. Kansas City might ultimately hold out Mahomes for his own good long-term, but don’t rule him out for Week 8 just yet.

Malcolm Brown (ankle) has officially been ruled out for Sunday.
Rams head coach Sean McVay said yesterday that Brown would not play, and now it’s official as the Rams release their final Week 8 injury report ahead of the London game. Brown will miss his second consecutive game and remains week-to-week with his ankle issue.

The Cardinals signed Zach Zenner.
Zenner was just released by the Saints yesterday, but he quickly finds a new home for an Arizona team adding depth to the backfield with David Johnson banged up. This signing, along with Alfred Morris, could indicate DJ is unlikely to play in Week 8.

Matt Ryan (ankle) is officially questionable for Week 8.
Matty Ice was able to get on the practice field today, and we feel good about his chances of suiting up at less than 100% against the Seahawks this Sunday. Falcons head coach Dan Quinn says the team won’t know about Ryan’s status until tomorrow, when it sounds like a decision might be made on whether he can go or not. But if we don’t find out tomorrow, the good news is that the Falcons play at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, so Ryan’s status will be known by 11:30 AM ET on game day.

Delanie Walker (ankle) will not practice today.
After he was active but barely played last week, Walker is looking iffy for this Sunday against the Buccaneers. We’ll update you if the veteran tight end is able to hit the practice field tomorrow.
10/23/19 - 12:30 PM ET
Sterling Shepard (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Week 8.
This was expected, as Shepard remains week-to-week with his second concussion of this season. Hopefully Shepard is feeling better, but this will be his third consecutive missed game.
10/25/19 - 12:32 PM ET
The Lions promoted Paul Perkins to the active roster.
An additional signing to Detroit’s backfield is possible, but for now it appears the Lions are poised to go with a committee with Ty Johnson, J.D. McKissic, and Perkins this week against the Giants. Perkins will be facing his former team, so perhaps there’ll be some extra motivation for him.
