Join now >Rex Burkhead (foot) has been ruled out for Week 5.
This is a bit of a surprise after Burkhead played through the foot injury last week, but Burkhead presumably is not traveling to Washington for tomorrow’s game and has been ruled out. Frankly, the Patriots probably know they shouldn’t have much trouble beating the Redskins, and there’s a quick turnaround with a Thursday game in Week 6, so they’ll look for Burkhead to get closer to 100%.

Sony Michel gets going in Patriots’ Week 5 win.
Michel carried 16 times for 91 yards (5.7 yards per carry) and one touchdown along with three receptions for 32 yards against the Redskins. This was a game against a Redskins team the Patriots were heavily favored over, but it was still a promising performance for the second-year back—and it’s worth noting that Michel’s three receptions were the most of his career to this point. The Georgia product has the ability to contribute more as a receiver, but he hasn’t been used much in that area through his first year-plus in the league. If Michel gets more involved in the passing game, he should be a clear fantasy RB1 in that offense. Next up, Michel and the Pats face the Giants on a short week this Thursday night.

Parris Campbell (abdomen) officially did not practice today.
Campbell also missed yesterday’s practice, and it appears this injury could force him to miss Sunday night versus the Chiefs. The rookie receiver likely needs to get in at least a limited practice tomorrow to have a good chance to play in Week 5.

Kyler Murray plays well in first career NFL win.
Murray was 20/32 for 253 yards along with ten carries for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown in the Cardinals’ 26-23 win against the Bengals. The rookie quarterback’s touchdown was a nine-yard run on a fourth-down designed bootleg in the first quarter, when he used his quickness to get past a couple of defenders near the pylon. Late in the game, Murray led his team down the field for a game-winning field goal by Zane Gonzalez as time expired. The 25.4 standard fantasy points were the most for Murray through five games, and he should have more performances like this moving forward. The former Heisman Trophy winner has offered a strong combination of weekly floor and upside early in his career, and he has a good matchup against the Falcons in Week 6.

Benjamin Watson will not play in Week 5.
Watson returned from his four-game suspension this week, but he’s reportedly not making the trip to Washington and is out for tomorrow’s game. The Patriots can active Watson to the active roster by Monday at 4:00 PM ET, and we expect that they will do that. New England’s passing game is running through its wide receivers and running backs this season.

Michael Thomas goes off in win over the Bucs.
Thomas caught 11 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns in New Orleans’ 31-24 Week 5 victory. Both scores for Thomas came in the red zone, with the first coming on an out route where he powered into the end zone, and the second coming on a slant route where he broke through two tackles after poor tackling from Tampa Bay. Drew Brees appears close to a return from his thumb injury, but Teddy Bridgewater (four touchdowns in Week 5) is playing very well and is helping Thomas’ fantasy value not take a hit without Brees in the lineup. It would be interesting if Jalen Ramsey plays for the Jaguars in Week 6 (which does not seem likely), but Thomas remains a great WR1 against Jacksonville in Week 6.

Marlon Mack (ankle) officially did not practice today.
This is Mack’s second straight missed practice. Mack has shown the ability to play on Sunday after just one practice during the week, so hopefully he can get out there tomorrow and suit up Sunday night at Arrowhead. We’ll update you when the final Week 5 injury report is released tomorrow.
