Join now >Saquon Barkley leaves game with apparent lower leg injury.
Barkley appeared to have his ankle twisted pretty badly late in the second quarter, and he was in obvious pain on the sideline. Hopefully the injury isn’t as bad as it looks, but it might be difficult for Barkley to get back into today’s game. Keep in mind the star running back is a freakish athlete, though, so a quick return wouldn’t be a huge surprise.

The Colts signed Chad Kelly to the practice squad.
Kelly went unclaimed on waivers (if a team waived him he would’ve had to take up a spot on the 53-man roster), and it was expected he’d land back with the Colts. The talented quarterback will look to develop in Indy.

Dwayne Harris (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 3.
Harris toughed it out in Week 2 and continued playing, but he’s now out for Week 3. New addition Trevor Davis is set to contribute on special teams for the Raiders against the Vikings.

Cam Newton’s status for Week 3 is up in the air after aggravating his foot injury, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Newton got injured in the team’s third preseason game, and he clearly hasn’t looked like himself through two weeks with negative rushing yards. Carolina’s starter may turn out to be fine for Sunday’s game against Arizona, but if that’s the case, the ceiling will be capped, and Newton would probably be best viewed as a QB2 option. Second-year quarterback Kyle Allen is currently the No. 2 quarterback and wouldn’t be a huge downgrade for Curtis Samuel, D.J. Moore, and the rest of the offense.

Devin Singletary (hamstring) did not practice today.
Singletary missed Week 3 with the injury, and this isn’t a good start to Sunday’s big matchup against the Patriots. If the rookie can’t go, Frank Gore will be locked into another heavy workload, but the opponent makes him more of a touchdown-dependent FLEX play.

Josh Jacobs (hip) officially remains limited in practice.
The good news is Jacobs isn’t listed with the illness he posted about on Instagram and was able to still practice on a limited basis today, so we feel good about his Week 3 status. We’ll update you on how the rookie running back is listed on the final injury report when it’s released sometime tomorrow.

Keith Kirkwood has been placed on injured reserve.
Kirkwood was inactive for Week 2 because of a hamstring injury, and now he’s being placed on IR. Perhaps Kirkwood will be brought back after eight weeks, but he can be safely dropped in any fantasy leagues he was owned in.
