Join now >Devin Funchess (back) was officially a full participant in today’s practice.
Funchess was out for yesterday’s practice, but, barring a flare up or setback, it looks like he’ll be ready to go for Sunday against the Chargers. The big receiver’s contract indicates the team expects a big role for him this season, but it’ll be interesting to see how he’s used as the Colts adjust to not having Andrew Luck at quarterback.

Dontrell Hilliard is being evaluated for a concussion.
Hilliard is currently in the locker room, and he’ll have to get cleared before he can return against the Titans. Look for Nick Chubb to get more work on third downs while Hilliard is out.

Keke Coutee (ankle) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Coutee is not expected to play on Monday night against the Saints, but perhaps he has a shot after getting in a limited practice to start the week. At the very least, this bodes well for Coutee being ready to go soon even if he doesn’t suit up in Week 1.

Keke Coutee (ankle) is inactive for tonight’s game.
Coutee appeared to have a decent chance of playing tonight against the Saints, but he’s inactive as the Texans presumably play it safe with the second-year receiver. After he was able to practice on a limited basis leading up to tonight, Coutee is likely headed for another questionable tag for Week 2 against the Jaguars.

Julio Jones “doesn’t know” if he’ll play on Sunday without a new contract.
Jones and the Falcons are said to be close to a new contract, but that’s apparently been the case for quite some time. The All-Pro receiver has been a good teammate as usual and reported for training camp, but it’s fair to say he’s probably frustrated that his new contract has not been completed with the season just a few days away. Jones hasn’t caused headaches while requesting his new deal, but he obviously expects to get paid. We would think the two sides can come to an agreement before Sunday, but don’t lock it in that Julio is out there against the Vikings if the contract situation doesn’t work out.

Mike Evans (illness) is officially active for Week 1.
Evans was officially listed as questionable with an illness, but he was not expected to be in any danger to miss today’s season opener against the Niners. Richard Sherman will likely be on Evans for much of the day, but you can safely insert the big receiver into Week 1 fantasy lineups.

The Raiders are planning to suspend Antonio Brown, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Schefter tweeted that Brown and Raiders general manager Mike Mayock “got into it Wednesday,” and the team is now planning to suspend Brown. This obviously stems from the Raiders fining Brown for missing a team walk through on August 22 while he was dealing with his helmet issue, as well as a previous fine for missing a training camp practice on August 18. Brown made an Instagram post yesterday voicing his displeasure with the fines, saying that even his “own team want to hate”. Good for Mayock not just letting his star receiver do whatever he pleases, as it’s hard for a fair-minded person to think that AB has acted appropriately in these last several months dating back to his time with the Steelers. Jon Gruden could potentially step in and stop the suspension, but we would not expect it to be for more than one game if the Raiders go through with it.
