Equanimeous St. Brown | Saints WR

Equanimeous St. Brown suffered a high-ankle sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

This injury is expected to keep St. Brown out four-to-six weeks, so the second-year receiver isn’t on the radar for fantasy drafts. It might be difficult for St. Brown to win a sizable role in Green Bay’s receiving corps in 2019 while missing the early part of the season.

Marqise Lee | Free Agent WR

Marqise Lee (knee) has been taken off the PUP list.

Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone says that Lee will be practicing today. Lee is nearly 12 months removed from his serious knee injury suffered last season, and he’ll now work himself back into the offense with new quarterback Nick Foles. If Lee gets up to speed quickly, he could become the go-to target for Foles, but for now he should probably start most fantasy leagues on the waiver wire.

Orson Charles | Broncos TE

The Browns waived Orson Charles.

The fullback/tight end was waived to make room for Rico Gathers. Charles is a versatile player that shouldn’t have much trouble finding a new team.

Blaine Gabbert | Free Agent QB

Blaine Gabbert leaves preseason game with apparent left hand/wrist injury.

[UPDATE: It is a left shoulder injury for Gabbert.] Gabbert slid head first and appeared to maybe roll his left hand under his body, and he immediately called over to the sideline. As Gabbert headed to the locker room holding his left wrist area, he was in obvious discomfort, and his night is certainly over. More information on the status of Tampa Bay’s backup quarterback should become available in the next 24 hours.

Rico Gathers | Free Agent TE

The Browns signed Rico Gathers.

It didn’t take long for the former Cowboy to land with a new team, but Gathers will be stuck behind 23-year-old tight end David Njoku in Cleveland. Gathers does not need to be rostered in dynasty leagues, as he’s more likely to develop into a strong real-life contributor than fantasy asset with the Browns.

Drew Lock | Seahawks QB

Drew Lock (right hand) is questionable to return to tonight’s preseason game.

Lock went into the locker room, presumably to get X-rays. Perhaps Lock will return to action, but the Broncos are likely to play it safe with their second-round rookie quarterback. Lock played pretty well before leaving tonight’s game, making some nice throws and running a two-minute drill at the end of the first half to get the team into field goal range.

Josh McCown | Free Agent QB

Josh McCown is coming out of retirement and signing a one-year deal with the Eagles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

McCown was hired by ESPN after retiring earlier this year, but injuries to Nate Sudfeld (wrist) and Cody Kessler (concussion) led to the perfect situation for a return, so he will push back his television duties for what will be his final season in 2019. The Eagles know they need a reliable backup behind Carson Wentz, and in McCown, they get a starting-caliber quarterback that won’t have any trouble learning the offense. Ideally, McCown won’t see the field this season, but this signing could mean that Sudfeld is placed on IR to free up a roster spot.
