Clive Walford | Dolphins TE

The Dolphins have released Clive Walford, according to Ian Rapoport.

Walford was released with an injury settlement, but it isn’t a long-term issue, which could allow the veteran to quickly resurface. The former Miami standout got off to a solid start in Oakland to begin his career, but he’s caught just nine passes over the past two years.

A.J. Brown | Eagles WR

A.J. Brown (hamstring) has returned to practice.

Brown injured his hamstring on the first day of camp and has been out since, but the rookie is back and will hopefully make his debut in Tennessee’s second preseason game. The No. 51 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Brown has the skillset to be an immediate fantasy contributor, but the Titans have plenty of pass-catching options on a run-first offense.

David Moore | Panthers WR

David Moore (shoulder) is going to be out “a while.”

Moore was hurt in yesterday’s practice, and Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says he won’t be ready for the start of the season. It sounds like this could be an injury that lasts several weeks, but this basically puts Moore off the late-round radar in fantasy drafts either way. Second-round rookie D.K. Metcalf is dealing with a knee injury himself, but he’s expected to be ready for Week 1 and is now essentially a lock to be a starter. Jaron Brown might also see more snaps while Moore is out.

Elijah Hood | Jaugars RB

The Jaguars signed Elijah Hood.

It’s nice to see Hood sign after he was cut by the Panthers to clear a roster spot the day he reported to training camp there. The 2017 seventh-rounder will look to put some good play on film as he attempts to make Jacksonville’s 53-man roster.

Noah Fant | Seahawks TE

Noah Fant left tonight’s preseason game with a foot injury.

ESPN’s Lisa Salters said on the broadcast that the injury Fant suffered in the first half was a foot injury. It looked like Fant was sort of rolled up on and appeared to be holding his knee area, but apparently it’s a foot. The rookie tight end is currently sitting on the bench and looks to be in fine spirits, so hopefully he’s OK. Fant worked as a clear starter with quarterback Joe Flacco on the first-team offense tonight.

Tony Pollard | Titans RB

Jerry Jones says rookie Tony Pollard is “capable of… carrying the whole load.”

The Cowboys owner hyped up the rookie running back from Memphis after last night’s preseason game against the Niners, saying: “I certainly thought he had a good account of himself. He looks confident out there. We know he’s inordinately understanding of what he does and can do. We’ve seen him do it, we know he’s capable of, if he really needs to, carrying the whole load.” Pollard drew the start for Dallas last night and carried four times for 16 yards, looking the part as someone that could have a big Year 1 role if needed. Pollard has received a lot of hype this summer, and much of it is coming from the Cowboys themselves as they deal with the Ezekiel Elliott hold out. This statement by Jones is another indication that the Cowboys don’t plan to budge and give Elliott the contract he’s looking for, and Pollard appears to be the main beneficiary if Zeke doesn’t report to the team.

Josh Gordon | Free Agent WR

The NFL has reinstated Josh Gordon, according to ESPN.

This was fully expected to happen at some point, but it’s still a gamechanger from both a real-life and fantasy perspective. Gordon has gotten so many chances that it’s a bit ridiculous at this point, so there’s a chance he has another slip-up (potentially for the last time if the NFL doesn’t let him back in the league), but his talent level is off the charts and gives New England’s offense an obvious boost. After spending time with the Patriots last season, Gordon has an understanding of the offense and could be ready to step right into a large role as a starter—he can officially report to the team on Sunday, but he cannot play in the team’s third preseason game. The former All-Pro will likely go in the middle rounds, perhaps in the fifth-to-sixth-round range, in 2019 fantasy drafts, though he’ll carry higher risk than most players because of his past. For dynasty leagues, while there’s a chance the policy doesn’t change, keep in mind that Gordon would be in good shape long-term if the league lightens up on its marijuana ban.
