Join now >The Jets have placed a second-round tender on Robby Anderson, according to Ian Rapoport.
So, other teams will have a chance to sign Anderson, but New York would have a chance to match, and they’d get a second-round pick in return if they decide not to. The tender almost certainly means Anderson will be back with the Jets, and that’s probably the best destination for him considering what new head coach Adam Gase was able to do with deep threat Kenny Stills in Miami. Anderson’s connection with franchise quarterback Sam Darnold showed promise toward the end of the 2018 season.

Mike Davis intends to sign with the Bears, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The deal cannot become official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday, but Rapoport calls it a “big payday,” though that likely could be because Davis worked his way from a former fifth-round pick that spent time on the practice squad to earning a nice deal in free agency. Davis’ arrival probably doesn’t mean Jordan Howard it on his way out of Chicago despite trade rumors popping up again this year. Davis averaged 4.6 yards per carry while mixing in for 112 carries in Seattle’s committee backfield last season. He might have a similar role with the Bears.

The Chiefs have signed wide receiver Sammie Coates.
This is a great spot for the 25-year-old 2015 third-round pick, and it’s a great fit for the Chiefs and their explosive offense. Coates will have an opportunity to carve out a role in Kansas City’s receiving rotation, and he’d be an intriguing option for Patrick Mahomes and company on offense if he makes the team. The former Auburn star doesn’t need to be owned in all dynasty leagues, but he’s worth an add if you have an open bench spot.

The Titans are signing Adam Humphies, according to NFL Network.
Humphries will probably get a fairly lucrative multi-year deal, and he seems like a good fit for Marcus Mariota as a reliable target out of the slot. Last year, the Clemson product finished with a 76/816/5 line in Tampa Bay, and he will probably be projected at around similar numbers in 2019, especially if Corey Davis doesn’t emerge as an elite WR1.

Jason Witten is resuming his playing career for the Cowboys.
Well this is a major stunner that came absolutely out of nowhere, and Witten will be playing his 16th NFL season in Dallas after spending one season in the broadcast booth with ESPN on Monday Night Football. The Cowboys were trying to get their future Hall of Fame tight end to return during the 2018 season, but Witten decided against coming back, as he likely wasn’t in game shape to contribute and likely didn’t want to leave ESPN hanging after they took a chance on him and gave him a big job. Witten’s presence is obviously a major boost for the Cowboys from a leadership perspective, and he should still be a steady target for Dak Prescott. Witten will be 37 at the start of the season, but he relies on craftiness and experience more than he does athletic ability.

The Bills are signing tight end Tyler Kroft.
Kroft’s agent Mike McCartney reported the news, and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says it’s a three-year deal worth $18.75 million and can be worth up to $21 million, so money-wise he did just slightly better than former Bengals teammate C.J. Uzomah did re-signing in Cincinnati for $18 million over three years. Unless Buffalo adds a rookie early in the draft, Kroft is likely to start at tight end in Brian Daboll’s offense, which could lead to TE1 value in 2019 if he quickly forms a nice connection with young franchise quarterback Josh Allen. This deal will become official when the new league year starts on Wednesday.

Austin Davis has joined the Seahawks coaching staff.
Davis is joining Seattle’s staff as an offensive assistant, so it appears that the 29-year-old quarterback has retired as a player. The Southern Mississippi product went undrafted in 2012 and worked his way into one of the league’s better backup quarterbacks, making ten starts in his career and throwing 13 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions. Davis spent 2017 and part of 2018 with Seattle, so he’s in a familiar spot. We wish him luck as he starts his coaching career.
