Dwayne Allen | Free Agent TE

Dwayne Allen is signing with the Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Allen visited Miami yesterday, and the two sides were able to quickly come to an agreement. New Dolphins head coach Brian Flores and offensive coordinator Chad O’Shea saw Allen every day in New England, so there’s comfortability between the two sides. The Dolphins have a crowded tight end group which includes 2018 second-round pick Mike Gesicki, 2018 fourth-round pick Durham Smythe, and Nick O’Leary, but Allen figures to primarily help as a run blocker for a team that’ll want to be physical under a defensive head coach.

Charles Clay | Free Agent TE

The Bills have released Charles Clay.

Clay signed a five-year contract with Buffalo in 2015, but the team is moving on before the final year of the deal. Now 30, Clay had just 184 scoreless yards in 2018 and will get an opportunity to find a home before free agency begins. The Bills are a definite candidate to spend a Day 1 or Day 2 draft pick on a tight end for franchise quarterback Josh Allen.

Mike Glennon | Free Agent QB

The Cardinals have released Mike Glennon.

Signed to a two-year deal last offseason, Glennon isn’t a fit for Kliff Kingsbury in Arizona, but he shouldn’t take long to resurface elsewhere as a backup. The bigger quarterback move (or non-move) will come in the 2019 NFL Draft when the team either selects Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray or sticks with Josh Rosen.

Antonio Brown | Free Agent WR

Antonio Brown will meet with Steelers owner Art Rooney II, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Earlier today, Rapoport reported that Rooney wanted to meet with the All-Pro receiver in Florida but that Brown had “no plans” to meet with the Steelers owner. However, Brown is now going to meet with Rooney, which is obviously the right thing to do to show respect to the person that leads the organization he’s played for the past nine years (and paid Brown a ton of money). This meeting indicates there might be a chance the two sides can come together and work things out while continuing their relationship despite Brown posting on social media that he was done with the Steelers earlier this week. Pittsburgh would have a huge cap hit if they trade Brown, and they ultimately might just want to do all they can to work this out. Brown might not change his mind about wanting out, though. Stay tuned.

Danny Amendola | Retired WR

The Dolphins have released Danny Amendola, according to Ian Rapoport.

Amendola caught 59 passes for 575 yards and one touchdown last year as the slot receiver in Adam Gase’s offense, but Miami is understandably going to get younger at the position under a new regime. Now 33, it’s possible Amendola reunites with the Patriots after spending 2013-2017 in New England, as he’s a proven performer in the playoffs and insurance for Julian Edelman. He could also hope for another decent deal elsewhere, but Amendola is unlikely to be a big-time fantasy contributor in 2019.

Carlos Hyde | Free Agent RB

The Jaguars have released Carlos Hyde, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Hyde was acquired from the Browns last season to help jump-start a rushing attack that didn’t have Leonard Fournette because of injury, but things just didn’t work out. The Jaguars are giving Hyde an opportunity to become a free agent early, and he should receive a good amount of interest on the open market. Hyde had 1,000 yards from scrimmage and touchdown totals of nine and eight in each of his previous two seasons in San Francisco before joining Cleveland last year, and he’s still just 28.

Bruce Ellington | Free Agent WR

The Lions have released Bruce Ellington.

Ellington, who spent time in both Houston and Detroit last year, averaged just 5.7 yards per reception on 23 grabs with the Lions, and they will now look for an upgrade between Kenny Gollday and Marvin Jones via free agency, trade, or the draft. Not turning 28 until August, Ellington will almost certainly get an opportunity to make a roster this summer, but he’s off the fantasy radar right now.
