Join now >Paul Richardson catches two passes in Week 8.
Richardson gained 34 yards on his two receptions against the Giants, including a long of 25 yards. He also added one carry for seven yards. It was good to see Richardson healthy and in the lineup for the Redskins, but he’s not a highly-recommended fantasy option right now. Next week against the Falcons is a solid matchup for him, though.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is starting for the Buccaneers in Week 9.
Considering Jameis Winston has not played well at all dating back to last season and has multiple interceptions in each of his four games this season, this is not a surprise. Fitzpatrick has 13 passing touchdowns and five interceptions in five games this season, including starting the year with three straight games of over 400 yards passing. The veteran quarterback was keeping pace with Patrick Mahomes as the highest-scoring fantasy quarterback before he was benched for Winston during Week 4, and he has a legitimate chance to deliver top-ten value down the stretch. Tampa Bay has plenty of weapons on offense, and Fitzpatrick isn’t afraid to let it fly to those weapons. There’ll be downside each week because of potential turnovers and benching, but Fitzpatrick offers top-five weekly upside. This week against the Panthers will be a tough matchup, though. It’s hard to blame Dirk Koetter for making the move from Winston to Fitzpatrick, as his job is on the line. We’ll see what happens, but Winston’s days as a franchise quarterback might be numbered.

Chris Thompson gets five touches in Week 8.
Thompson had three carries for 13 yards and two receptions for nine yards against the Giants. This was Thompson’s first game back after missing the last two contests with rib and knee injuries, so the Redskins were probably working him back into the swing of things. Next week against the Falcons lines up as a better spot for the dynamic running back.

Laquon Treadwell caught three passes for 25 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Saints.
Treadwell made a couple nice grabs, but he had a key third down deflected out of his hands by Marshon Lattimore. The Ole Miss product has already set career-highs across the board with 25 receptions for 216 yards and one touchdown through eight games, but hopefully he can really emerge down the stretch to give Minnesota another weapon.

Adrian Peterson scores twice in Redskins’ win.
Peterson had another great performance for the Redskins, carrying 26 times for 149 yards and a touchdown along with one reception for seven yards and a touchdown. He also lost a fumble in the game but later made up for it. The first score was a seven-yard reception where he broke a tackle before getting into the end zone, and the second score was a 64-yard touchdown run to basically seal the game in the fourth quarter. “All Day” is the oldest player since 1921 to rush for a touchdown of over 60 yards, as he certainly still has it despite clearly not having quite the same elite breakaway speed he once had. Peterson now has at least 96 yards in five of seven games this season, and he remains an excellent option in Week 9 fantasy lineups.

Aldrick Robinson catches one pass in Week 8.
Robinson gained 19 yards one his lone reception against the Saints. This was Robinson’s second non-touchdown reception compared to three touchdown receptions this season, so he’s obviously playing well when given opportunities. However, Robinson is not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.
10/29/18 - 01:36 PM ET
Alex Smith plays well as the Redskins improve to 5-2.
Smith was 20/32 for 178 yards and one touchdown in the Week 8 victory over the Giants. He also added three carries for 13 yards. The score was on a short pass to Adrian Peterson, who broke a tackle for a seven-yard touchdown. Smith also sprinted to make a great touchdown-saving tackle after a Peterson fumble in the seven-point win. He’s not putting up big numbers, but Smith continues to control the game and avoid big mistakes. Smith does have some QB1 appeal against an injured Falcons defense in Week 9, though.
