Meanwhile, Elijhaa Penny received one carry for two yards. It’s a bit of a surprise the second-year back from Clemson didn’t get a touch against the Falcons, but we’ll see if he gets more involved next week against the Redskins.

Ito Smith handles nine touches in Week 7 victory.
Smith rushed seven times for 16 yards and caught two passes for 29 yards. It was a decent split with Tevin Coleman (13 touches for 82 yards and a score), but the starter made a bigger impact on his opportunities, and it’s clear he’s the back to own in Atlanta. Smith will be on the FLEX radar when the Falcons return from their Week 8 bye to face the Redskins.

Elijhaa Penny gets one carry in Week 7.
Penny gained two yards on his lone attempt against the Falcons. It was his first rushing attempt of the season. Wayne Gallman curiously didn’t receive a touch for the Giants, but he still probably remains the No. 2 back for the team. Penny is not a fantasy option right now.

Tevin Coleman handles 13 touches in win over the Giants.
Coleman rushed 11 times for 50 yards and a score, also adding two receptions for 32 yards. It was a pretty even split in the backfield with Ito Smith handling nine touches, but Coleman made the bigger impact with a 30-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter on a pitch that he easily outran the safety on, and he had a 30-yard reception earlier in the game. The Indiana product also seemed to tweak his ankle on Atlanta’s final possession, but he returned. Coleman will have a week to rest up before taking on the Redskins following the bye, and he should remain at least a high-upside RB2 that will hopefully start consistently breaking big plays.

Evan Engram catches two passes in Week 7.
Engram gained 16 yards on his two receptions against the Falcons, also adding one carry for ten yards in the Monday night loss. This was Engram’s first game after missing the last three contests with a knee injury. The second-year tight end had three receptions for 18 yards in his only meeting against the Redskins (his next opponent) last season.

Matt Ryan, Falcons pickup Monday Night Football victory over the Giants, 23-20.
Ryan was 31/39 for 379 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in the win. The score came in the second quarter on a beautiful deep ball to Marvin Hall from 47 yards away, and Ryan consistently picked apart New York’s defense with a very efficient night. The Falcons head into the bye at 3-4, and they will look to make a run starting in November with road games against the Redskins and Browns. Ryan, who hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 2, will likely be ranked as a top-five fantasy option when Atlanta is back in action.

Saquon Barkley scores against the Falcons.
Barkley carried 14 times for 43 yards and a touchdown and added nine receptions for 51 yards in the Week 7 loss. The No. 2 pick in the draft played well, as usual, but the Falcons did a nice job of bottling him up and not allowing any huge plays. This was Barkley’s first career game without 100 yards from scrimmage, which indicates how good he’s been to start his career. Next week, Barkley faces a Redskins team that just shut down Ezekiel Elliott yesterday, but the Penn State product is obviously an RB1 in fantasy lineups.
