Join now >The Jets placed Bilal Powell (neck) on injured reserve.
There’s an outside chance Powell is brought back as a designated-to-return player, but his season is probably over. This is tough to hear for the veteran running back, as he was having another solid season for a Jets team that is competing in the AFC. Powell’s season ends with 80 carries for 343 yards along with 11 receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. Isaiah Crowell is the clear leader in New York’s backfield now, making him a stronger FLEX option in fantasy lineups. Rookie Trenton Cannon will receive more work, too, but Elijah McGuire, who was on injured reserve but has been designated to return, might be the player to keep an eye on after the hype he received in the offseason.

Dalvin Cook (hamstring) might remain sidelined through Minnesota’s Week 10 bye week.
Courtney Cronin of ESPN writes “multiple league sources have indicated a belief that Cook will miss the Vikings’ next two games… and remain sidelined through Minnesota’s bye week.” The Vikings haven’t come out and said anything, so this could turn out to be wrong; however, it makes sense for the team to ensure the second-year running back gets to 100% after he’s already dealt with hamstring setbacks while playing in just three games this season. We’ll of course monitor Cook’s practice status this week, expect Latavius Murray to again carry the load on Sunday night against the Saints.

Keke Coutee (hamstring) would have been limited in today’s practice.
The Texans again listed practice estimates, as they just had a walkthrough and not an actual practice. We’ll see how the rookie receiver is listed on the official injury report for the game when it’s released tomorrow.

Marcell Ateman has been promoted to the Raiders practice squad.
The team just traded Amari Cooper yesterday, and this could open the door for the rookie from Oklahoma State to get solid playing time down the stretch. Jon Gruden has already said he likes Ateman during the summer, and the big-bodied receiver is a very intriguing hold in dynasty leagues. Keep an eye on him for redraft leagues, too.

The Bengals placed Mason Schreck (knee) on injured reserve.
This is the second straight season Schreck lands on IR to start his career, which is tough for the former Buffalo tight end. Shcreck has not caught a pass in his career yet, but hopefully he can get healthy and make an impact as a receiver in 2019. We wish him luck on his recovery

John Ross (groin) is expected to miss a few weeks, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Ross re-aggravated the injury in Sunday night’s loss to the Chiefs. It’s unfortunate the track-speed receiver has been unable to stay healthy his first two NFL seasons, but hopefully he can make a full recovery and become a major difference-maker down the stretch this season. Ross doesn’t need to be owned in redraft fantasy leagues.

Chad Kelly was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing.
More information should become available on the incident, but it looks like a flat-out stupid decision by someone that’s had a history of bad decision off the field. The second-year quarterback might have been set for an extensive look on the field at some point this season, but he’s obviously putting that in jeopardy. Kelly wouldn’t be a highly-recommended fantasy option even if he does get past this and become Denver’s starting quarterback.
