Tyrod Taylor reportedly had his lung accidentally punctured while the team doctor tried to give him a pain-killing injection, so he is not expected to be ready to go for this Sunday. Taylor is now thought to be out indefinitely as he deals with the punctured lung, so consider him week-to-week. Herbert was highly impressive in his NFL debut last Sunday, especially when you consider he was told he would be starting right at kickoff. In deeper leagues in particular, Herbert is someone to keep an eye on if he’s on the waiver wire after the way he played in Week 2.

The Panthers placed Christian McCaffrey (ankle) on injured reserve.
While the star running back is pushing to return sooner than expected, this confirms that McCaffrey will be out at least the next three games. If you drafted McCaffrey No. 1 overall, you’d obviously like to just hold him on your roster if possible. But if your team is in trouble, it might not be a bad idea to trade him for another star player that can help you now.

Sterling Shepard (toe) has been placed on injured reserve.
Shepard will now miss the next three games while on injured reserve, but hopefully he’ll be ready to go after that. Shepard is not a must-hold in redraft leagues, especially if your league does not have any IR spots.

The Lions signed Joe Webb III to the practice squad.
Webb has the versatility to play quarterback, special teams, and receivers, so he’s a good player to have on the practice squad to potentially get called up to contribute at some point this season.

Sterling Shepard (toe) won’t play in Week 3, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Shepard is dealing with turf toe, so he could be facing a multi-game absence. If he is able to avoid IR, fantasy owners can hope Shepard will be back by Week 4 or Week 5, and it’s worth noting that the schedule for New York really lightens up next month. Darius Slayton, Evan Engram, and Golden Tate should all be leaned on this week against San Francisco.

The Seahawks have placed Phillip Dorsett (foot) on IR, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Dorsett has been dealing with his foot issue since the summer, and he’s been unable to get on the field early in his Seahawks career. Hopefully this three weeks minimum on injured reserve allows the speedy receiver to get back to full strength before working his way into a role at around midseason.

Davante Adams hamstring injury is considered minor, but his status for Week 3 is up in the air, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Unfortunately, the Packers don’t play until Sunday night in New Orleans, but Adams wanting to return to the game last week should bode well for his status. If the star receiver remains questionable by Sunday morning, fantasy owners need to have a backup plan in place.
