Kyle Lauletta | Browns QB

The Falcons are releasing Kyle Lauletta from the practice squad.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says Atlanta wants to add at other positions on the practice squad but that Lauletta could be back in the future. Other teams will also likely show interest in Lauletta in the coming days.

Devonta Freeman | Free Agent RB

The Giants are signing Devonta Freeman, according to NFL Network.

This is pending COVID-19 testing, but everything is expected to go well. It took a while for Freeman to sign, but he now figures to get a nice opportunity with the Giants after Saquon Barkley’s unfortunate season-ending knee injury. Freeman will be one of the top waiver-wire pickups ahead of Week 3, but Dion Lewis and Wayne Gallman will also remain in the mix in the Giants backfield.

Parris Campbell | Cowboys WR

The Colts placed Parris Campbell (knee) on injured reserve.

Campbell is out indefinitely with his PCL injury, so this was fully expected. The second-year receiver does not need to be held in redraft leagues.

Jonathan Williams | Free Agent RB

The Lions released Jonathan Williams from the practice squad.

Detroit is very deep at running back, so Williams might ultimately land with a better spot for a path to playing time. Williams will look to land with another squad soon.

Blake Bortles | Retired QB

The Broncos are signing Blake Bortles, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Denver needs a quarterback with Drew Lock (shoulder) out for multiple weeks, and John Elway has quickly come to an agreement with the former No. 3 overall pick. Jeff Driskel showed very well last week off the bench and may remain the starter, but Bortles had seemed to be waiting for an opportunity to get back on the field, so it will be interesting to see what happens. For this week, it would be a surprise if Driskel wasn’t under center against an underrated Tampa Bay defense.

Cam Akers | Free Agent RB

Cam Akers is dealing with separated rib cartilage.

It doesn’t sound fun, but Rams head coach Sean McVay says Akers “should be OK.” Akers is considered day-to-day for now, so he might have a shot to play in Week 3. The good news is this shouldn’t be a lengthy absence for the rookie running back if he does miss more time after leaving yesterday’s win over the Eagles.

Henry Ruggs III | Free Agent WR

Henry Ruggs III (knee) is officially active for Monday night.

Ruggs isn’t quite at 100% while dealing with the knee injury suffered during his NFL debut in Week 1, but the dynamic rookie receiver was not going to miss the home opener in Las Vegas. Given his big-play ability, Ruggs is on the FLEX radar in a game with shootout potential.
