Join now >The Dolphins are releasing Kalen Ballage, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Ballage was a 2018 fourth-round pick by Miami, and he got off to a promising start to his career with 36 carries for 191 yards (5.3 yards per carry) and a touchdown as a rookie. But he couldn’t get much going behind a struggling offensive line in 2020, averaging 1.8 yards per carry on 74 attempts. The Arizona State product will look to rejuvenate his career with a new squad. He’s just 24 years old.

The Dolphins claimed Salvon Ahmed.
Ahmed was just waived by the 49ers yesterday, and he quickly finds a new landing spot across the country in Miami. Ahmed will look to make a strong impression with the Dolphins while battling for a roster spot.

The Browns claimed Damion Willis off waivers.
Willis caught nine passes as a rookie with the Bengals, and he will stay in the AFC North as Cleveland looks to add depth at receiver. Particularly on run-first offense, Willis wouldn’t be a recommended fantasy option if he makes the team.

The 49ers are signing River Cracraft.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says Cracraft impressed San Francisco in a veteran workout, and he knows the offense. The Niners have been hit extremely hard by injuries at the receiver position, and Cracraft will look to take advantage of practice reps over the next couple of weeks.

David Montgomery believed to be dealing with groin strain.
Many expected a serious potential season-ending injury when Montgomery was carted off from practice earlier today, but it sounds like the second-year running back avoided a major injury. More tests are coming, but NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that he’s thought to be dealing with a groin injury. More information on the exact extent of Montgomery’s injury with a potential recovery timeline should become available sometime today or tomorrow.

David Montgomery reportedly carted off with apparent non-contact injury.
Montgomery was reportedly carted off the field with a leg injury, though some rumors state that it’s not a knee injury. Bears head coach Matt Nagy will talk to reporters after practice, so we could get more information momentarily.

The Titans are signing Jeremy McNichols.
Tennessee has a pretty inexperienced group behind 2019 league-leading rusher Derrick Henry, but McNichols has familiarity with the Titans after spending time with the team last year. McNichols is battling for one of the final rosters spots for the Titans.
