Join now >Jarrett Stidham has a hip injury.
[UPDATE: Stidham is still practicing but not fully.] NFL Network’s Mike Giardi says that “it will be several weeks before he’s back to 100%” from this hip injury, so this all but eliminates his chances of becoming the Week 1 starter for a Patriots team that also has Cam Newton and Brian Hoyer in the mix. This is tough luck for Stidham, but the shortened offseason might have made the two more experienced options the favorites to start anyway. Things can change, but the Auburn product could be looking at a similar red-shirt season type of year as was the case during his rookie season.

The Steelers released Saeed Blacknall.
This is a corresponding move to the team signing wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud, who will deliver more versatility for use on special teams. Blacknall will hopefully land with a new team soon as training camp continues across the league.

The Colts removed Mo Alie-Cox from the PUP list.
Alie-Cox can now join his teammates on the field as training camp keeps ramping up toward the start of the season. The talented tight end will be a contributor in a deep position group for Indy, but he’ll likely be difficult to trust in 2020 fantasy lineups.

The Eagles claimed Travis Fulgham.
Fulgham has been bouncing around in the past couple of weeks, but the good news is he is getting another opportunity. That said, the Eagles have a deep receiver group including a few rookies, so it might be a tough roster to crack.

The Steelers are signing Ray-Ray McCloud, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
McCloud is primarily a special teams contributor, so this is an interesting signing with Pittsburgh having Ryan Switzer and Diontae Johnson both capable of handling return duties. The former Clemson standout isn’t currently on the fantasy radar.

K.J. Hamler will miss a couple of weeks with a hamstring injury.
Hamler’s Week 1 status is no in doubt, and it’s a shame after the explosive second-round rookie was said to be having a good camp. Hopefully Hamler can be ready to go for a Monday night matchup against the Titans to kickoff the Broncos’ season; but, especially after the missed time, he won’t be a highly recommended fantasy option to start the year even if he’s in the lineup.

Jalen Hurd suffered a torn ACL and has officially been placed on injured reserve.
This was reportedly the fear after initial tests following his injury in practice a few days ago, and it’s since been confirmed by the MRI. Hurd missed all of his rookie season last year with a back injury, and now he’ll miss all of the 2020 season, so it’s been a very unfortunate and unlucky start to Hurd’s NFL career. He’s looked poised to be a versatile and dynamic weapon in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, but health simply hasn’t cooperated since he was selected in the third round of the 2019 draft. We wish Hurd the best of luck on his recovery and hope to see him 100% and able to make a huge impact in 2021.
