Join now >Tyler Lockett will stay in the hospital another night.
Lockett is staying in California at the hospital for precautionary reasons because of the swelling in his leg, but Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll says he expects Lockett to play when the team returns to action in Week 12. We hope Lockett is feeling better and can get back home soon.

Emmanuel Sanders (rib) is day-to-day.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says the veteran receiver is likely to be a game-time decision for this Sunday against the Cardinals. Sanders being called day-to-day indicates this is not a serious injury, so he shouldn’t miss more than a week or two if he does miss any time. We’ll track his status leading up to Week 11.

The Titans waived Rod Smith.
Smith played three games for the Titans, but he did not appear on offense and instead contributed on special teams. The Ohio State product should land with another team soon.

The Jets have placed Chris Herndon (ribs) on injured reserve.
Herndon played in one game this season, catching one pass for seven yards last week against the Giants. It’s unfortunately a lost season for the talented tight end, as his year began with a four-game suspension, and a hamstring injury delayed his debut until this month. The injury history is now a real concern for Herndon, but he’s a player that head coach Adam Gase referred to as a “unicorn” when he got the job, and his dynasty stock probably won’t get any lower than it is right now. There is probably a case to be made for TE1 value in drafts next summer.

Matt Breida is getting a second opinion on his ankle.
Breida was limping a bit while favoring his taped-up ankle in last night’s loss to the Seahawks, and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero says the dynamic running back “may miss some time to let it heal”. San Francisco is fortunate to be extremely deep at running back, so they might want to rest Breida and get him back closer to 100% for the stretch run. However, Breida has played through a bunch of injuries (particularly to his ankles) over the past couple of seasons, so it’s certainly possible he continues toughing it out. We’ll track his status leading up to this Sunday’s Week 11 matchup against the Cardinals.

Tyler Lockett (leg) is expected to be OK.
Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was on the radio and said he thought Lockett would be OK, but NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero adds that he’s been told Lockett was dealing with “a very bad bruise that swelled a lot.” The major swelling caused concern last night, which landed Lockett in the hospital, but thankfully it sounds like he’ll be just fine. The Seahawks have a Week 11 bye before facing the Eagles on November 24, and we expect Lockett will be fine for that matchup.

Drew Sample is dealing with a high-ankle sprain.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that the second-round rookie tight end is a candidate for injured reserve. The bottom line is Sample is likely to miss at least a few weeks with this high-ankle sprain, which is unfortunate for his development.
