Join now >The Patriots are signing quarterback Brian Hoyer.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, it’s a three-year deal for the veteran quarterback. After New England’s trade of Jimmy Garoppolo to the Niners, this was expected to come together quickly and it did. Hoyer is a good teammate and someone that’s familiar with how things are done in New England, so it was an ideal match.

Cooper Kupp caught three passes for 54 yards in Sunday’s blowout win over the Giants.
The rookie is on pace for a respectable 52/740/6 line at the season’s midway point, and he has at least two receptions in every game this season. He’s worth rostering in PPR leagues as the slot receiver on the NFL’s highest-scoring offense.

Charles Clay (knee) is officially out for Week 9.
This was fully expected, as the Bills play on a short week tomorrow night. Clay remains week-to-week, and Week 10 seems like a very good possibility, considering it’d be over a month since he injured the knee. However, Clay might not have as big of a role when he returns because of the Bills’ acquisition of wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin at the trade deadline.

Andre Ellington (quadricep) is active for Week 9.
Ellington was expected to be ready to go after the team’s bye, and he is. He’s a FLEX option in deeper PPR leagues with six teams on a bye.

Brock Osweiler is now the starting quarterback for the Broncos.
According to multiple reports, Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is telling his team this morning that Osweiler will be the starter this Sunday against Philadelphia. The move, which was first reported by Mike Elis of 9News, sends Trevor Siemian to the bench after his great start to the year that tapered off. With a team that has a great defense, the Broncos probably decided something needed to be done to help give the offense a spark, so now the man that was 5-2 as Denver’s starter in 2015 gets the nod. Osweiler will have a full week of practice to get reps with the first-team offense, and he’s expected to get Emmanuel Sanders, who missed the last two games with an ankle injury, back at receiver. He’s not a recommended fantasy option, but it’s possible his presence is good for skill players Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

Marcus Mariota helps lead the Titans to 5-3.
Coming out of the bye, Mariota appeared to be moving around a lot better after dealing with his hamstring injury in the weeks prior. He was 19/28 for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against the Ravens, though he was limited to six yards on three rushing attempts. The first score was in the first quarter on a 16-yard throw to the end zone to Rishard Matthews, and the second was on a scramble to the right where Mariota threw back to his left to a wide-open Eric Decker in the end zone for 11 yards. Mariota hasn’t had the huge breakout season he’s capable of, but the hamstring injuries did limit him for a few weeks. He’s worth holding onto down the stretch.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson would not commit to Jay Ajayi playing on Sunday.
Ajayi just arrived with the team after yesterday’s trade from the Dolphins, so he needs to learn the playbook and get comfortable with what the Eagles are teaching. We expect him to be active for the game, but Pederson said they might have it so he really knows at least some of the plays that he can be confident with. Pederson also added that he’ll have to see how this week of practice goes before committing to how much work he’ll get against the Broncos. Remember, this isn’t Madden. Ajayi will need to get his old Dolphins offense out of his mind and learn this new offense with the Eagles. In a tough matchup versus Denver while potentially being limited with the playbook, Ajayi is more of an RB2/FLEX option this week—but he should emerge as an RB1 soon enough.
